Tested during the 2020 International GS Trophy, they are built on Sena’s most advanced Bluetooth 5 platform and feature significant hardware and software updates.

Main Features of the Sena 50S and 50R Intercoms: Mesh 2.0 Intercom Technology

The strong point of the Sena 50S and 50R intercoms is in the Mesh 2.0 Intercom technology, capable of transferring 80% more data in difficult and challenging conditions, providing superior audio quality.

In addition, another of its advantages is that it allows 3 different intercom modes that we now explain:

Open Mesh Intercom (practically unlimited group): This option allows you to communicate with practically anyone participating in the Mesh 2.0 network within a range of up to 8 km (minimum 6 users in 1.6 km intervals) and also presents multi-channel options .

With nine channels available, the user can switch to a new frequency for conversations with different driving groups, within the larger Open Mesh group.

Group Mesh Intercom (groups of 2 to 24 people): This option allows you to create a private group of up to 24 members and has a range of up to 5 miles. Users have to be invited to the group, which provides more control and privacy.

Bluetooth Intercom (2 to 4 people): Of course, you can also connect with the classic Bluetooth channel that supports up to 4 users within a radius of 1.6 km.

Best of all, Mesh users stay connected, even when out of range, so there is no need to re-link intercoms once they are back in range.

Audio clarity with HD speakers: The new HD speakers are designed to deliver loud and defined sound, while ensuring maximum comfort with an optimized size.

The design has also been revised from previous models to limit potential discomfort and to fit perfectly into the bluetooth helmet.

Multitasking WiFi adapter: The WiFi Adapter recharges the Sena 50 series and automatically installs firmware updates, when connected to WiFi. This means that it will no longer be necessary to connect it to the PC.

Charge 30% faster: The new battery recharges 30% faster than its predecessors, allowing the unit to be fully charged in just one hour.

In this way, the Sena 50S and 50R intercoms are ready to work in just 20 minutes offering up to three hours of Mesh communication, or five hours of Bluetooth motorcycle helmet intercom.

Multilingual voice activation: The different functions offered by the intercom can be selected using voice commands, including Open Mesh input or answering phone calls.

The 50 Series models support voice commands in 8 different languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian.

However, the main novelty is the new direct access to Google or Siri digital assistants through the smartphone.

New easy to use app: Along with the unit updates, Sena has also created a new mobile app to provide users with an intuitive way to get the most out of their 50 series intercoms.

Depending on whether yours is the 50S or 50R model, they offer different control options. The 50 S has a jog dial design and the 50R has a three button design.
